Schedule of Event

Those who register for the Great Lakes Surf Festival will have access to the following activities below. Please note that our final schedule will not be finalized until mid-summer since we will continue to enhance the user experience.

We will offer several SUP dry land and on-water (If you have your own gear) clinics focused on improving your technique, basics of wave riding, and safety. Those without gear that are interested in learning SUP can participate in dry land clinics focusing on the basics of the sport, how to get started in the sport, selecting the appropriate gear, and water safety. There will also be a limited number of SUP boards for rent that will be available on a first come, first serve basis. We will populate this information on our Social Media so please connect with us there if you are interested in renting gear. Private lessons will also be available, at an additional cost. We will announce this on SM as well.

Several Surfing dry land clinics focused on improving your technique, wave riding, wave forecasting, and safety. Those without gear that are interested in learning to Surf can participate in dry land clinics focusing on the basics of the sport and also clinics on how to get started in the sport, selecting the appropriate starter gear, and water safety. Weather permitting, there will also be a limited number of surfboards for rent that will be available on a first come, first serve basis. We will populate this information on our Social Media so please connect with us there if you are interested in renting gear. Also weather permitting, private surf lessons will also be available at an additional cost. We will announce this on SM as well.

Several Kiteboarding clinics focusing on innovative gear, improving your riding technique, advanced riding skills, and wind forecasting. Those without gear that are interested in learning to kiteboard can participate in dry land clinics focusing on the basics of the sport and also clinics on how to get started, selecting the appropriate starter gear, and water safety.

Several kayak dry land and on-water (If you have your own gear) clinics focused on improving your technique, basics of wave riding, and safety. Those without gear that are interested in learning to kayak can participate in dry land clinics focusing on the basics of the sport, how to get started in the sport, selecting the appropriate gear, and water safety. There will also be a limited number of kayaks for rent that will be available on a first come, first serve basis. We will populate this information on our Social Media so please connect with us there if you are interested in renting gear. Private lessons will also be available, at an additional cost. We will offer several 35-minute classes and workshops in various disciplines of yoga that will cater to beginner through advanced yogis.

We will have several SUP and kayak races that cater to beginner through advanced riders.

Our goal at the 2018 GLSF will be to break the world record of having 1,000 registered paddleboarders within one square mile. This is your chance to be a part of history!

We will have a free board swap meet (For registered participants) where riders can sell and purchase used gear and receive great deals on new gear from participating retailers.

For artists, we will provide a venue to introduce your proposed design of our 2019 GLSF event poster where registered participants can vote on the winning design!

For registered participants, we will have a free raffle that will include the chance to win numerous free prizes, including the chance to win a free 2018 Naish Quest Paddelboard valued at $1,800.
